Judy-N-Gray

Judy Gray

Judy is the creator behind Judy-N-Gray, and a retired teacher who now shares her passion for spinning and weaving. Her love of fibre began over 50 years ago when her parents brought her an Ashford spinning wheel kit from New Zealand, complete with instructions and a “How to Spin” book. Since then, Judy has developed her skills through self-teaching, reading, workshops, and travel, visiting textile-rich countries including Peru, China, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Turkey, and Japan.

Judy creates woven pieces on pin and rigid heddle looms, often inspired by her other passion—gems. Fossicking trips in the outback provide colours, textures, and ideas that influence her work, helping her combine natural inspiration with traditional weaving techniques to create unique, handcrafted pieces.

Sharon’s Sheep to Shawl Creations

Sharon Pearson

Sharon is the creator behind Sharon’s Sheep to Shawl Creations, turning hand-spun fibres into crochet and tapestry pieces. Inspired by her travels in rural and outback areas, she works with locally produced fleeces and hand-dyes yarn using natural sources like lichen, marigold flowers, and gum leaves. Sharon loves to experiment with new ideas, sharing patterns that work, and while she especially loves the natural colours of fleeces, she also enjoys adding her own colours.

Passionate about teaching, Sharon shares her skills in spinning, crochet, weaving, and knitting. Another of Sharon’s passions is photography—she has self-published a book, Fences, Gates and Posts of Rural Australia.

Elbenn & Co

Leanne Sainsbury

Leanne is the founder of the South Burnett Fibre Fashion Collective, created to share the work of local fibre artists and makers. The collective grew from her interest in handmade fashion, community, and working with natural materials.

Leanne also runs her own label, Elben & Co, where she creates garments using locally sourced and Australian fibres. Her work focuses on thoughtful design, sustainability, and the stories behind each piece.
